Baptism is the introduction of a person into the Church community. Through the waters of Baptism the person enters into the life of God - Father, Son and Spirit. He or she is dedicated to God and all that is good.

When you choose to have your child baptised, contact the parish office to make an appointment with the Parish Priest. He will meet you for instructions and to answer any questions which you might have.

Baptisms are normally celebrated on Sunday mornings at 11.00am but may be arranged at other times for pastoral reasons.

There must be at least one godparent who is a Catholic, at least sixteen years old, who has been confirmed and has received the Eucharist. As long as one godparent is Catholic, it is permissible for a non-Catholic to act as witness to a child's baptism.
